About me

Hello, I'm Sophie.

Therapy can help with what is happening now, and with the history that shaped how we see ourselves and the world.

Therapy tends to be considered when a person is experiencing difficulties that have a significant effect on everyday life, often where other approaches have been tried without success. These difficulties do not have to be current. They can come from historical events that have changed our thoughts and feelings about ourselves or others, and how we are within the world we are trying to navigate.

I have developed my own integrative model of what it is to be a human being and why we may come to need therapy. It is both developmental and relational, and draws on Gestalt theory and attachment. I believe it can give people the resources and pathways to a more fulfilling life and relationships, within a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space.

Building a relationship that feels both safe and nurturing enough to explore these difficulties can help bridge the developmental and relational deficit that may be holding someone back. Using phenomenological enquiry and relational process, it becomes possible to reframe and understand thoughts and feelings in a different way.

I offer online sessions for children, young people and adults. Complex trauma is the majority of my work, with both children and adults. In person availability is upon enquiry.
