Get in touchLooked after children (LAC)
I contribute to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) around looked after children and young people. My contribution includes:
- Clinical formulations: contributing psychological perspectives and joint case formulations to help the wider team understand the roots of a child's behaviour and distress.
- Direct therapy and interventions: delivering individual or group psychotherapy while coordinating treatment goals alongside other team members.
- Risk assessment and safety planning: using specialised training to assist with risk evaluation, safety planning and crisis management.
- Indirect interventions: offering clinical guidance, reflective practice or training to other MDT staff, such as support workers, to better support the children in their care.
- Case conferences and review meetings: attending regular MDT meetings to review progress, update care plans and align recovery targets.
You don't have to carry it alone.
